Fatwa for Rafiq Tagi

November 29th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Rafiq Tagi is now scheduled to be a dead man. The writer for Azerbaijan’s Senet newspaper has committed blasphemy and is now part of the fatwa club. Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Fazel LI- LI- LI- LI- LI- LI- LI- LI Lankarani issued the sentence of death based on the accusations of some ignorant people.

The Iranian media is reporting that Grand Ayatollah Lankarani’s followers inside the republic of Azerbaijan wrote to him asking for advice about what they called “the apostate writer”.

They accuse the Azeri writer of portraying Christianity as superior to Islam and Europe as superior to the Middle East.

They allege that he has ridiculed all the sanctities of Islam and done it knowingly, fully aware of the consequences of his action.

He apparently wrote something that portrays Christianity as better than Islam and Europe as superior to the Middle East. I’m still trying to understand what is so offensive about his article from what is in the news. I guess you will be executed in Iran for telling the truth. For that reason Europe is superior to the Middle East. At least they can deal with the truth.

Bringing Back The Draft

November 20th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

It didn’t take long for Charles Rangel (D-NY) to start running his mouth again after the election.

Rangel, a veteran of the Korean War who has unsuccessfully sponsored legislation on conscription in the past, has said the all-volunteer military disproportionately puts the burden of war on minorities and lower-income families.

He should be saying that the present system disproportionately puts a burden on those who sign up for the army. I am not concerned with minorities or the lower-income families making up an unknown portion of new recruits. They know what the military does, regardless of the free college money. Rangel would have you believe that minorities and the poor have no idea they could be deployed into a war zone when they sign up for military service. Minorities are the new majority in many parts of the country. Asians and Latinos are expected to outnumber whites by 2025 in some parts of the country. If this new majority wants to go to war then let them. The draft is going to do nothing but sign up people who will end up getting themselves or others killed because they’re not there to perform a duty they volunteered for.

“If we’re going to challenge Iran and challenge North Korea and then, as some people have asked, to send more troops to Iraq, we can’t do that without a draft,” Rangel said.

Sure you can. Here is the solution, you recruit from Mexico. Mexicans get cash, money for college, and after 3 years of service they get a shot at citizenship. This solves the illegal immigrant problem by actively recruiting Hispanic soldiers. They get on the job training that can be used in a civilian job if they don’t want to go to college. From what I’ve read most Hispanics join the army for educational benefits and citizenship ranks fourth. Still it’s a way of getting people to join.

Now I do propose one change to the 2002 Bush executive order allowing non-citizens to join the military in exchange for citizenship. It needs to extend to ALL people. The executive order only allows legal immigrants to join. If you came here illegally then you can’t join the military. Allow anyone in any country to join our military in an exchange for permanent residency or citizenship regardless of where they are or their legal status when they sign up. Next I propose that Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations change to fit the newly revised executive order. When you arrest an illegal alien you offer them military service, education, and citizenship or a plane ticket back to where they came. Sure some will go back others will take the benefits package because it’s more than what they get back home. Even the life insurance from them getting killed in combat would be worth more than many years of working in Mexico or Eastern Europe. Providing for your family is what life is all about. Everyone’s ancestors 300+ years ago provided for them today since wealth is handed down from generation to generation and after 300+ years nobody is going to remember you as a person, but you will be in the family genealogy and history books for all the things you have done to make your family what it is today and will be in the future.

Iran, Leader in Stem Cell Research

November 18th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Iran is apparently a Mecca for stem cell research. Due to the religious climate there an embryo is not considered alive until after 3 months. On FoxNews TV a cleric stated that since the embryos are never implanted then there is no possibility they will ever be alive which is what allows for this form of research. This is something American politicians should think about. World dominance is not just about military power. It is also about economic diversity and the freedom to innovate. South Korea, Britain, and others may be the first to innovate in this area and if they are the first to invent, then they get the patent rights. It would be much better if we were to invent and charge other countries for our hard work, but instead we have to resort to ancient superstition running our lives.

Iranian history, going back to the Persian empire, is laced with scientific achievements and one doctor told me, “the scientists would now like to go back to this era and for this reason young scientists are really excited.”

The new-found pride is not just about stem cells. It’s also about nuclear energy. The fact that Iranian scientists figured out how to enrich uranium without having to do so in a foreign country is a big reason the people and politicians say they won’t back down from the United Nations’ demands to stop.

One interesting note here that shows Iran is progressing as a country is that the scientific community wants to return to the era of innovation. The Persian Empire had many innovations. Ultimately this means you cannot have religion interfering with science to attain this level of brain power. This is one small element of hope that the Iranians are slowly slipping out of the grasp of the Islamic clerics into a new renaissance of thought.

American Religious Terrorists

November 13th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Middle Eastern terrorists are all the rage these days. They get all of the press attention and for good reason. There is; however, another group of terrorists out there. These are right wing Christian religious terrorists that blow up buildings in the name of God.

Since 1977, casualties from this war include seven murders, 17 attempted murders, three kidnappings, 152 assaults, 305 completed or attempted bombings and arsons, 375 invasions, 482 stalking incidents, 380 death threats, 618 bomb threats, 100 acid attacks, and 1,254 acts of vandalism, according to the National Abortion Federation.

We should not forget that terrorists despise freedom. Christian Taliban believe that their religion is the central force in the universe and that women should submit to the will of God. But being religious nut jobs they are none too bright.

After 9/11, Planned Parenthood and other abortion rights groups received 554 envelopes containing white powder and messages like: “You have been exposed to anthrax. … We are going to kill all of you.” They were signed by the Army of God

So, you’re going to mail anthrax to a clinic where there are pregnant women? Way to go Jimbo! I’m guessing if the pregnant woman were to die that would make you a baby killer, no different than a doctor performing an abortion or a drunk driver running down a pregnant mother. I never thought that Army of God could be responsible for promoting infanticide, but guess again! This must mean that the Christian Right must be angry at the abortion doctors for beating them to the kill. They don’t even have the decency to blow themselves up in Muslim neighborhoods which must also mean they’re against us in the War on Terror.

Video Game Lets You Kill Jews and Atheists

November 11th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Left Behind Box

Nope this is not a Jihad video game.  This is a Christian video game and it will be in stores in time for Christmas.  Left Behind: Eternal Forces puts you at the command of a Christian gang in NYC after the apocalypse.  Your mission is to kill or convert Jews, Atheists, and other servants of the Anti-Christ.  I’ve checked out the website and there are no Muslims that I can see.  I would assume that either the forces of Satan or the Christians have eliminated all of the Muslims in the world.  It might be the first time Christians and Satanists work together to do something good for the world.  I hope someone can come up with a mod to make a prequel for this game so you can go around the streets of Tehran and convert or kill Muslims.  It could be a contest between Christians and Satanists to see who can collect the most towels from dead Muslim heads.

The actress, the Internet, the sex film and Iran

November 10th, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Score another one for the mullets, I mean mullahs of Iran. Reuters is running a story on an actress that is accused of appearing in an immoral film. Apparently antics that the tabloids thrive on exposing will get you killed in Iran.

Pictures of an actress, dressed in the close fitting Islamic headscarf mandatory in Iranian state television productions, have been splashed across the front pages connecting her with the sex scenes. The soap star, in her 20s, denies she appears in the film and media reports she has tried to kill herself since.

Those convicted of such crimes can face a range of punishments ranging from lashes to imprisonment or even death if the woman is married and is thus committing adultery.

Anyone want to marry this woman and get her a US Green Card? Sounds like she deserves one whether or not she is guilty as charged. And someone needs to get the investigators a ham sandwich. The must be hungry by now.

Beirut an Oasis

November 3rd, 2006 by Quan Tranh

Beirut must be an oasis in the middle of the desert.  Now that Ramadan is over women are on the prowl.  Apparently the men are like the Mexicans in that they leave home to work in another country and they actually return to their home country.  So there are single women everywhere that are ready to jump them after the fasting and ritual of Ramadan.  Beirut is a burka free zone.

By 8 p.m., women in their 20s and early 30s are prowling in packs of five and six, casting meaningful glances at any and all passing men. In the bars the women dance for hours – often on top of the bar – and legs, midriffs, bare shoulders and barely covered bosoms are offered for public admiration.

Even nicer is the fact that this is a cosmetic surgery city like Rio or L.A.

“The social pressures on young women are just huge,” Yazbek continued. “The focus is more and more on being beautiful, on pleasing other people. The competition is intense, conformity is a big thing, and everyone, rich and poor, gets plastic surgery. You can go to parts of Beirut where almost every young woman has the same little nose.”

We definitely need to keep the Taliban out of this city because you don’t cover the art of a surgeon with bags.
